Today’s blog post is an interview with fellow pet blogger; Ann Staub from Pawsitively Pets. Did you know we featured her pets on our blog a few weeks ago? Check out our interview with Ann all about her pets Shiner, Jack & Gus by CLICKING HERE
*Who is filling out this Interview?
*Where are you from?
*Tell me a little about yourself?
I’m currently a Stay-at-home mom to two girls, age 2 and 10. I used to work as a Veterinary Technician, but since I no longer do that (for now) I work from home as a Professional Pet Blogger. Pets are my passion!
*What is your blog called?
*When did you start blogging?
I started blogging in October 2012.
*Why did you start blogging?
After quitting my Vet Tech job to stay at home and care for my youngest daughter, I became pretty bored. I needed something to do and I’ve always loved writing. Next thing I know, I was blogging about what I love – pets! It was perfect because it also allowed for more social interaction with people and pets, even if just over the internet.
*How often do you blog? Is it a set schedule or random posts?
I blog whenever I have something to blog about. Sometimes, I get in a zone where I post something everyday. Right now, I am post 3-5 times a week. This year, I have a couple of scheduled features on the blog.
*What is your blog about?
My blog is about pets. Unlike other pet blogs, I do not focus on one kind of pet. Much of the time, I write about my dog or pet rats but I share information about ALL types of pets.
*Do you have any animals?
Yes – I have an 11 year old Pit Bull named Shiner, two dumbo-eared fancy rats named Jack and Gus, and a few fish in an aquarium.
*What do you hope to achieve with your blog in 2015?
Mostly, I just want to continue to grow my blog as much as I can. I’d love to finally be able to meet some of the other pet bloggers I interact with so often online as well. And of course, I love the photography aspect of blogging and hope to continue to improve on that aspect of it.
*Have you ever attended any Blog Conferences?:
No, I have not sadly. It would be a dream come true if I could, but having children to care for makes it difficult.
*What do you get inspiration from?
I get inspiration from all kinds of things! My pets inspire me the most of course, but I am also inspired when I visit other pet blogs.
*Any advice for someone wanting to start their own Animal Blog?
I think that as a new pet blogger that’s just starting out, the best piece of advice I have is to visit other blogs and leave comments when you can! This is one of the easiest ways to connect and let people know you exist. Join a community (like BlogPaws), social media group, or forum where you can find other pet bloggers.
Don’t forget to be patient. Blogging takes time and building up a following doesn’t happen overnight. It’s hard work!
*What are some of your favorite pet blogs to read?
Well, I have so many favorites that I’m sure I’d leave someone out…
